( COVINGTON, KY ) — The Hotel Covington on Madison Avenue has cut its ribbon and opened its doors.
The 114 room hotel/restaurant sits now where the old city offices were. Covington Mayor Sherry Carran says that when city officials were approached about the hotel back in 2012, they “knew that the building was not a good space for our city offices, and we really weren’t doing justice to the building.”
Since the announcement of the Hotel Covington coming to that location, many new restaurants and businesses have moved in or are being renovated in the area, within a 2 to 3 block radius. Mayor Carran credits the “energy” brought about by the new hotel and the “confidence in the city” shown by the management and developers of the hotel.
