U.S. News & World Report has ranked a Northern Kentucky hotel the best lodging facility in Greater Cincinnati, No. 1 in Kentucky and among the top 3% of U.S. hotels for 2022.
Hotel Covington, which opened in September 2016 at 638 Madison Ave. in Covington, ranks No. 201 among 6,000-plus properties in the weekly newsmagazine’s annual Best Hotels rankings.
Here is an excerpt on what reviewers had to say about it:
The Hotel Covington Cincinnati Riverfront occupies the iconic 1910 Coppin’s Department Store building. The property nods to its roots with the Coppin’s Restaurant & Bar and preserved design touches featured throughout the hotel, such as the high ceilings and oversized display windows. Accommodations are outfitted in rich jewel tones, with velvet tufted headboards and amenities like free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs and mini fridges stocked with local products.
The emphasis on locally sourced ingredients is also on display in the restaurant menus and at the on-site Artisan Coffee Bar, which uses Carabello Coffee from nearby Newport.
U.S. News ranks 3.5-star hotels and above using a methodology that combines each hotel’s industry awards with expert and guest reviews. New in 2022, U.S. News also ranks select qualifying hotels in Bermuda, Mexico and the Caribbean. A hotel property must offer at least 20 rooms to qualify.
